Sherbrooke Village is where I spend most of my summer days. It is the most peaceful and beautiful spot in the world (except for the Black Brook of course).
You can step back in time at this restored village, 90% of the buildings are on their original sites. The village is alive with heritage and recreates the hum of days gone by with a water powered up and down sawmill, a woodturner, a blacksmith, a horse & wagon ride, and my favourite Ambrotype Photography Studio. The critters include cows, horses, sheep, chickens, turkeys and peahens and peacocks. What makes the village so realistic are the friendly staff, they bring genuine Nova Scotian hospitality to each visitor. (not saying this because I work there, visitor comments support this statement!)
Check out the Village web site in my links. We're looking forward to the Old Fashioned Christmas the last weekend in November. Where Christmas is celebrated the Victorian way
Meghann and I on our way to work, Dougall always says good-bye. We dress in 1860's period costume. The car is a little newer.
In the fall of 2003 the village hosted the RCMP Musical Ride, this is my favourite photo.
